Acacia Melody Voice Policies for 2024--25
I. LESSONS

Students are encouraged to take weekly lessons.​ Sessions are held weekly, bi-weekly, or on a pay--per--lesson basis. Weekly or bi-weekly lessons are scheduled at a recurring time which guarantees the lesson slot and encourages consistent instruction.

Time is of essence. If the student arrives late, the lesson will end on time and the time will not be made up. If the student arrives on time but the previous lesson runs overtime, they will be given their full allotted time.​​​​

II. SUPPLIES

Students should bring a water bottle and any other vocal coach directed material to every lesson.
​

Students must also have the following items available for online sessions:

​An internet-connected electronic device with audio, video and microphone capabilities for video conferencing, a second device used for playing audio, and access to an area with appropriate lighting and minimal outside noise interruption. An external microphone is also highly recommended as it will dramatically improve the audio quality.

III. NEW STUDENTS

New students are required to submit a "new student" form online. Upon receiving the form, Acacia Melody will reach back out with the next steps.

IV. BILLING & PAYMENT
-
Lessons are PRE-PAID and are billed based on your selection.​ The vocal coach reserves the right to raise fees at the beginning of each new year. Online sessions will be billed at the same rate as in-person sessions. You may pay via PayPal or Cash. No credits or refunds will be offered for sessions missed by the student.

MONTHLY BILLING: Payment is billed by the amount of scheduled lessons in the month and is due by the 1st.

PAY-PER-SESSION BILLING: Payment is due by start of the scheduled lesson.​​

A $15 LATE FEE will be applied to any invoice that is five or more days past due.​ ​Lessons will be discontinued until payments are current, and any missed lessons will not be made up.
​

Automatic payment is enabled for all accounts. Y​our credit card or bank account is stored securely in your account and billed only when an invoice is sent.​ Credit card or bank account info can be added or changed on MyMusicStaff at any time.

V. LESSON LENGTH & PRICING
-
Fees vary based on length and bundling of sessions. An appropriate session length will be decided on an individual basis.

WEEKLY & BI-WEEKLY (Monthly Billing) SAVE 19% - All sessions are at a recurring weekly time.

30 minutes - $34 per lesson

45 minutes - $49 per lesson

1 hour - $64 per lesson

SINGLE LESSONS (Pay-Per-Session Billing) Lessons can be scheduled on a recurring or drop-in basis pending vocal coach's availability. In general, this is a great option if you need increased scheduling flexibility.

30 minutes - $42 per lesson

45 minutes - $57 per lesson

1 hour - $72 per lesson

VI. CANCELLATIONS, MAKEUPS, & REFUNDS
-
24-hours notice is required for all lesson absences,​ including illness, appointments, and school/work conflicts.​ To be fair to all the students and families, there are no exceptions to the 24 hour cancellation policy. Please login to your MyMusicStaff and click on a lesson to cancel and reschedule, or contact Acacia Melody via text.

If you are sick, a switch from in-person to online is highly recommended. For the safety of the vocal coach and other families, please stay home due to sickness and take the lesson online. Additionally, this will help avoid having to reschedule or forfeit a lesson due to the 24-hour policy.

Unexcused Absences: Lessons canceled or missed with LESS THAN 24 HOURS notice will not be rescheduled or be refunded.

Excused Absences: Lessons canceled with MORE THAN 24 HOURS notice will be given a make-up lesson credit to use within 14 days from the cancellation, ​after which it will expire. Extra lessons and make-up lesson times are available depending on Acacia Melody’s availability.

Absence of Vocal Coach: In the case of a cancellation due to Acacia Melody, she will give notice via email and text message and make-up the lesson as soon as possible or deduct the lesson fee in the next month's payment. Scheduled absences (such as school holidays, vacations and conferences) will be listed on the studio calendar.

VII. PARTICIPATION

Students should have a quiet area set up to practice regularly​. A practice regime outside of the session is necessary for growth and improvement. Vocalists should practice session materials, exercises, and properly warm-up their voice. A recording device is a helpful tool to use (such as a personal voice recorder, iPhone, etc.). A student can optionally record their lessons and refer to them later during practice time.

VIII. DISCONTINUING LESSONS

If enrolled in monthly billing, a notice is required no later than the 20th of the month before discontinuing lessons. If notification of termination occurs after the 20th of the month, you are still responsible for paying the next month’s payment.

If paying per session, a notice is requested before discontinuing lessons.

Acacia Melody reserves the right to discontinue lessons if it is in the best interest of both the student and the vocal coach.

Repeated failure to read and abide by materials/policies distributed, including parents and guardians.

Repeated failure to attend lessons.
-
Repeated failure to prepare for lessons.
-
Repeated offenses of inappropriate and/or disrespectful behavior
-
Failure to pay.

Payments will be discontinued at the time of cancellation, but no refunds will be offered for pre-paid tuition.​

IX. COMMUNICATION

Watch your inbox for relevant emails​ from n​oreply@mymusicstaff.com​, which include lesson reminders and invoices. Personal lesson reminders and notes will be emailed and/or texted weekly to the email addresses and mobile phone numbers listed in the student account.
